Martin McKee

Professor Martin McKee CBE is a leading figure in European public health, holding the position of Professor of European Public Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He co-directs the European Centre on Health of Societies in Transition (ECOHOST) and serves as research director for the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, a unique partnership involving universities, governments, and international agencies.

His research focuses on health policy, health systems in transitional societies, and global health governance. McKee has contributed extensively to understanding health disparities in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, with a particular emphasis on the social determinants of health and health system reforms.
