PD Dr. Martin Hexamer is a Professor at Ruhr University Bochum's Faculty of Medicine, specializing in biomedical engineering and medical technology. He holds a Dipl.-Ing. in electrical engineering and a Dr. rer. nat. from Ruhr University Bochum, where his doctoral work focused on thermoregulation in extreme environments. He later pioneered research in rate-adaptive pacemaker therapy and heart-lung machine automation.
