Martin Geiger is an Associate Professor at Carleton University's Faculty of Public and Global Affairs, cross-appointed between the Department of Political Science and the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies. He serves as Undergraduate Supervisor and is a core member of the university's Migration & Diaspora Studies initiative and Centre for Europe Studies (Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence).
His work focuses on European and global migration governance, examining inter-state and private actor roles in migration management. He explores intersections of political regulation, development innovation, and demographic change through mobility patterns.
Current projects include leading a SSHRC Partnership Engage project on talent mobility (www.migrationforinnovation.info) and collaborating on EU Horizon 2020 and SSHRC Insight Grant initiatives. He co-edits the peer-reviewed Mobility & Politics series with Palgrave Macmillan.
