Martin Dubé

Martin Dubé is a Course Instructor (Vocal Coaching) at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University, and holds affiliations with the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec and the Opéra de Québec. His expertise spans vocal coaching, piano accompaniment, and operatic performance.

Education: Studied piano at Université Laval under Michel Franck and Robert Weisz, earned a Master's in chamber music at McGill with Marina Mdivani, and pursued vocal coaching at Manhattan School of Music and Chautauqua Institution under Warren Jones and Marlena Malas.

Research & Performance: Specializes in classical vocal repertoire, French mélodies, and opera. Notable collaborations include recordings with mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux (Carnegie Hall, Pittsburgh) and soprano Hélène Guilmette (Analekta's L'heure Rose). Extensive performance history in venues like Alice Tully Hall (NYC), Opéra National de Paris, and festivals in Istanbul and Toulouse.

Awards: Recipient of scholarships from Fondation Desjardins, Clubs Richelieu, FCAR, and Music Academy of the West.

Teaching & Leadership: Former voice coach at Juilliard School (1997–2000), Curtis Institute of Music (2005–2006), and long-term répétiteur at Opéra de Montréal's Lyric Workshop. Current roles include accompanist for Montréal's International Singing Competition and répétiteur at Opéra de Québec.
