Martin Albrecht is a full Professor of Chemistry at the University of Bern since 2015 and Deputy Director of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences since 2021. His research focuses on designing modular and electronically flexible ancillary ligands for transition metal catalysis, particularly in C–H amination, formic acid dehydrogenation, and ligand-mediated water oxidation. Key projects include the development of triazolylidenes and pyridylidene amines/amides (PYE/PYA) as alternatives to classical phosphines and NHC ligands.
