Martha Saunders

Dr. Martha Saunders serves as President of the University of West Florida and holds faculty appointment in the Department of Communication. With over 30 years in higher education, her leadership has transformed UWF into a top-performing regional institution recognized by U.S. News & World Report. Key accomplishments:

• Established Florida's first doctoral program in intelligent systems and robotics
• Created the state's first NSA-designated cybersecurity bachelor's program
• Reorganized academic structure including Usha Kundu, MD College of Health

As Provost, she founded the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Engagement and Center for Cybersecurity. Her research expertise includes crisis communication frameworks and organizational leadership strategies in higher education contexts.
