Martha Hebert

Martha Hebert, EdD, is a Senior Research Specialist at the Center for Urban Education Leadership within the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her role involves collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data on the practices and achievements of EdD Urban Education Leadership program candidates. She also supports grant proposals for the EdD program and manages projects that highlight effective instructional approaches.

With 36 years of experience in Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Hebert held diverse roles including consultant in the Office of Grants Management, executive assistant to the Chief Officer for Professional Development, manager of the New Teacher Induction program, and coordinator in the Office of Funded Programs. Additionally, she spent 15 years as a classroom teacher. She earned her EdD in Educational Administration and Supervision from Loyola University Chicago in 1994.

Her work focuses on improving urban education through evidence-based practices, grant development, and teacher support initiatives. She collaborates closely with the Center for Urban Education Leadership and contributes to institutional efforts aimed at enhancing educational outcomes in urban settings.
