Her research focuses on disrupting dominant narratives about the marginalization of Black women in sport through a Black feminist theoretical lens. She examines how Black women assert their humanity in systems that reproduce anti-blackness and patriarchy, particularly in sport-related institutions like media, education, and politics.
Dr. Mack teaches graduate and undergraduate courses such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Sport Organizations, Current Issues in Sport Leadership, and Higher Education in Collegiate Athletics. Her forthcoming book, The Unruly Black Lady of the Negro Leagues: Effa Manley, Performance and Cultural Belonging, expands on her scholarship.
