Marsha Smith

Marsha Smith is a Research Fellow at the Research Centre for Business in Society, affiliated with Coventry University. Her work focuses on food systems, ethical consumption, and community-based approaches to addressing food insecurity. She has contributed to projects like 'Policy Measures Needed to Better Support Frontline Community-Based Organisations in the Fight Against Hunger in the Midlands.'

Education: Completed a PhD titled '‘More than food’: Using the lens of commensality to understand the practices of The Nottingham Social Eating Network' in 2022 under supervisors including Dr. David Bek and Dr. Laura Broughton.

Research Interests: Explores intersections between food consumption, community practices, and societal change. Her studies emphasize 'more than food' frameworks analyzing how food functions beyond nutrition, including social cohesion and ethical values.
