Marnie Gaede

Marnie Gaede serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, teaching Environmental Issues (HSCI-221-01) since 1993. She is a prominent environmental advocate with over four decades of professional engagement.

Her research and professional work spans Environmental Studies, Conservation Biology, Anthropology, American History, Biography, and Wildlife Conservation. Gaede has held leadership roles across multiple conservation organizations including Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (president), Galapagos Conservation Action (president), IlluminOceans (president), and The Fund for Wild Nature (president and board member since 2000), focusing on grassroots environmental initiatives and biodiversity protection.

She has collaborated with Virunga National Park on anti-poaching operations and contributed as an artist, anthropology editor, and author specializing in western American history and environmental advocacy. Her archival papers are preserved in the Department of Special Collections at Princeton University Library and the Special Collections at the University of Arizona Library.
