Marlene Lu

Marlene Lu is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak (SUTS). She holds a BSc (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University and a Master of Advanced IT from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Prior to her full-time appointment at SUTS in 2008, she served as a part-time lecturer at the same institution and worked as a research assistant at UNIMAS, focusing on formal methods applications in manufacturing software.

Her research explores:

• ICT4D: Designing e-commerce systems for rural Malaysian communities
• Assistive Technologies: Creating tools for children with autism, cerebral palsy, and speech disabilities
• Formal Methods: Applying software engineering techniques to industrial processes
• Educational Technology: Developing shared display systems for resource-constrained schools

Publications show two distinct phases: recent work (2014-2016) in ICT4D/educational technology, and earlier contributions (2001-2011) in assistive tech and formal methods for manufacturing. No awards, grants, or active student supervision details are available.
