About
Marlena Nowaczyk is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at the School of Information Technology, Halmstad University. She earned her PhD from Lund University in 2008 and has held postdoctoral positions at the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Mittag-Leffler Institute. Her research focuses on spectral theory in quantum graphs and defect analysis in graphene lattices.
Her recent publications explore defect types and positions in graphene using spectral and topological methods, including studies on double vacancy defects and Stone–Wales defects. These works intersect applied mathematics, quantum mechanics, and materials science.
She teaches undergraduate courses in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, and discrete mathematics, as well as graduate-level numerical methods and functional analysis. Her research emphasizes computational physics and topological modeling in quantum systems.
