Markus Trunschke is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and holds the role of Junior Research Associate at ZEW (Centre for European Economic Research). He completed his Ph.D. in Business Economics from KU Leuven's Department of Management, Strategy and Innovation in 2023. His research focuses on innovation economics, industrial organization, computational economics, and applied microeconometrics, with a current emphasis on firm innovation choices and computational methods for economic modeling.
Education: Ph.D. in Business Economics (KU Leuven, 2023), Master’s in Research in Economics (KU Leuven), and Bachelor’s in Economics (University of Mannheim, 2016).
Teaching experience includes advanced economics courses at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mannheim and supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses at the University of Mannheim. He developed the GNRProdEst.jl package for production function estimation, implementing methods from Gandhi, Navarro, and Rivers (2020).
