Markus Stange serves as Professor of Piano at the University of Music Karlsruhe, teaching piano performance, chamber music, and instrumental approaches to contemporary music. An internationally recognized specialist in new music, he performs with leading ensembles including the Berliner Philharmoniker and Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.

His artistic research centers on expanding contemporary piano repertoire through collaborations with composers like Stockhausen, Ligeti, and Crumb. He pioneered new works for piano duo and piano-percussion configurations, founding the Piano & Percussion ensemble that commissioned numerous world premieres.
Stange founded the Neustadt an der Weinstrasse International Messiaen Week (2008) and released a critically acclaimed 2015 solo CD of George Crumb's Makrokosmos. He maintains active interdisciplinary collaborations with institutions like the Karlsruhe State Art Gallery and conducts masterclasses globally across six continents.
