Markus Roehl

Markus Roehl is a Professor for Conservation and Vegetation Science at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Environmental and Urban Planning, Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU). Since March 2018, he has focused on applied research in ecological conservation, with prior leadership roles at the Baden-Württemberg Land Agency (2017-2018) and 16 years of research at HfWU's Institute for Applied Research (IAF) and Institute for Landscape and Environment (ILU). His career includes project development, workshops, and ecological planning in areas like moor conservation and land reclamation.

Education

• Diploma in Biology (Special Botany) from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (1990-1997)
• Promotion (PhD) in Agriculture at Universität Hohenheim on "Deriving restoration potentials as decision-making tools for moor conservation programs"
