About
Markus Raschke is a Professor and Adjunct Fellow at JILA, affiliated with the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds faculty appointments in the Departments of Physics and Chemistry. His research focuses on experimental nonlinear and ultrafast nano-optics, including optical antennas, surface plasmon and phonon polaritons, and scanning probe near-field optical microscopy. He investigates optical forces, opto-thermal phenomena, and the dynamics of complex oxides, semiconductor nanostructures, and polymer nano-composites.
Research interests emphasize spatio-temporal optical control, extreme nonlinear optics, and strong light-matter interaction. His work bridges nano-optics with condensed matter physics and materials science.
