Prof. Markus Lienkamp is a Professor and Chair of Automotive Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), leading research in electromobility, autonomous driving, and vehicle systems. He holds a doctorate in Materials Science from TU Darmstadt and has extensive industry experience at Volkswagen Group Research, where he managed teams and budgets up to €40M. His roles include Scientific Director of the Munich School of Engineering and the CREATE project in Singapore. He chairs the VDI Association for Automotive and Traffic Engineering and serves on TÜV Süd's Board.
Key research focuses include driver assistance systems, electric vehicle concepts (e.g., Visio.M, aCar), and battery technology.
