Prof. Markus Junghöfer serves as faculty at the Institute of Biomagnetism and Biosignal Analysis within the Faculty of Medicine, University of Münster. He leads the "Neural Mechanisms of Emotion and Attention" working group, conducting research on emotional perception, learning, and attention control in clinical and healthy populations.
His research program investigates affective neuroscience through studies of emotion recognition, awareness in emotional processing, and mechanisms underlying fear, anxiety, depression, and tinnitus. The lab employs non-invasive brain stimulation techniques to modulate neural activity and develop therapeutic interventions for neurological and psychiatric conditions.
