Markus Grompe is the Ray Hickey Professor and Director of the Papé Family Pediatric Research Institute at Oregon Health & Science University. His research focuses on advancing gene and cell transplantation therapies for inherited diseases, particularly through the study of hepatic stem cells and therapeutic liver repopulation. He has pioneered murine models supporting human stem cell expansion and developed humanized mice as platforms for novel therapeutics, including AAV vectors and small molecules.
