About
Markus Conci is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a regular faculty member of the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) and Munich Center for Neurosciences (MCN). He serves as a Lecturer and leads research in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience.
His research focuses on the cognitive and neural bases of vision, attention, and memory. He investigates how visual perception is organized, how attention is captured by salient objects, and how memory associations influence visual working memory. His work employs neuroimaging and behavioral methods to explore these processes in both healthy and clinical populations.
Analysis of his recent publications (2017-2021) reveals a focus on visual perception and attention, particularly object grouping, scene memory, and neglect syndrome. Key findings include the role of long-term memory in enhancing visual working memory and hierarchical organization of object representations, bridging cognitive psychology and neuroscience.
Conci currently mentors Leonie Nowack and Feifei Zhao, and has previously supervised PhD student Siyi Chen and Master's student Efsun Annac. He is affiliated with the Neuro-Cognitive Psychology research group within LMU Munich's Department of Psychology.
