Professor Markos Zachariadis is the Chair in Financial Technology (FinTech) and Information Systems at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), University of Manchester. He holds roles in the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Resilient Financial Systems and is a FinTech Research Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Digital Innovation. His research focuses on the economics of digital innovation, payment systems (e.g., SWIFT), and Open Banking. Zachariadis has authored/co-authored influential works such as The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) and contributes to policy discussions globally.
