Marko Ribać is an Assistant Researcher at the Peace Institute – Institute for Contemporary Social and Political Studies. He joined the institute in 2014 as a young researcher and PhD student, completing his doctorate in Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana in 2018. His work focuses on critical analysis of societal transformations within political, media, and economic spheres.
Research interests include:

- Transformations in political communication and journalism
- Economic sphere dynamics and inequality
- Popular protests and social movement strategies
- Migration frameworks and solidarity mechanisms

His publications analyze emotional solidarity within migration-focused social movements, examining framing strategies and collective action paradigms. Research contributes to broader discussions on democratic resilience and media pluralism.
He actively participates in the project "Populist Backlash, Democratic Backsliding, and the Crisis of the Rule of Law in European Union", investigating institutional decay mechanisms and strategies for democratic preservation. Collaborates within interdisciplinary teams at the Peace Institute across human rights, media policy, gender studies, and cultural research domains.
