Mark Wong

Dr. Mark Wong is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Public Policy & Research Methods and Deputy Head of Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on digital and AI policy, anti-racism, and co-design methodologies. He holds a PhD in Social Policy from the University of Edinburgh and has led interdisciplinary projects like the £4.43M PHAWM initiative. Mark advises the Scottish Government on anti-racist infrastructure and co-chairs the Design Advisory Group for the Anti-Racism Observatory for Scotland (AROS). His work bridges academia and practice, addressing systemic racism in AI/data systems and promoting equitable digital service design.

Research interests include responsible AI, racial justice, co-design methods, and social data science (e.g., network analysis).
