Mark Wiggins is a Professor of Organisational Psychology at Macquarie University’s School of Psychological Sciences, affiliated with the Performance and Expertise Research Centre. He holds a PhD from the University of Otago (2001) and is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society. His research focuses on expert performance assessment, diagnostic skills, and cognitive processes in high-stakes environments like aviation, healthcare, and energy systems. He developed the EXPERTise 2.0 software for evaluating diagnostic abilities and advises global institutions such as the FAA and Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
Teaching includes units on professional practice, human factors, and research methodologies in organisational psychology.
