Mark Warner is a Professor in the Department of Culture, Society and Justice at the University of Idaho. As a historical archaeologist specializing in zooarchaeology/foodways and archaeology of the disenfranchised, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and an M.A. from the University of Maryland.
His research examines underrepresented communities through material culture analysis, with projects spanning the U.S. including work on African American sites, Chinese communities, and frontier settlements. Professor Warner has developed innovative approaches to archaeological collections management and public engagement.
