About
Mark Van Raamsdonk is a Professor of Physics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics from UBC, pursued a Ph.D. in Physics at Princeton University, and conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University.
His research centers on quantum gravity through the lens of the AdS/CFT correspondence in string theory, exploring connections between quantum information theory and gravitational physics. He investigates how quantum entanglement and other properties of quantum states relate to the structure of spacetime via holographic principles.
