Mark Taggart is a Senior Research Fellow and Theme Leader for "Environmental Contamination and Ecological Health" at the Environmental Research Institute (ERI), University of the Highlands and Islands. He holds a PhD in Arsenic Biogechemistry from the University of Aberdeen (2005), an MSc in Geochemistry from the University of Leeds (1996), and a BSc in Earth Science and Countryside Management from Liverpool John Moores University (1994).
