Mark Stehr

Mark Stehr is a Professor at Drexel University with joint appointments in the School of Economics within LeBow College of Business and the Department of Health Management and Policy within Dornsife School of Public Health. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan.

His research focuses on health economics, health policy, and data analysis methods, with emphasis on behavioral interventions and policy evaluation. Funded by the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health, his work examines how economic incentives and public policies influence health behaviors.

Stehr's publications demonstrate consistent focus on policy impacts through field experiments and longitudinal studies. Recent work explores behavioral economics (commitment devices, financial incentives), public health policy (tobacco control, food pricing), and health equity. Methodologically, he employs retail scanner data, population surveys, and multi-year cohort studies to analyze real-world policy effects.
