Mark R. Beissinger is the Henry W. Putnam Professor of Politics at Princeton University, where he also served as Director of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (2010–2017). Previously, he held professorships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1995–2006) and Harvard University (1982–1987). His research focuses on social movements, revolutions, nationalism, and post-communist politics, with a regional emphasis on the former Soviet Union and post-Soviet states.
