Mark Moritz

Mark Moritz is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Anthropology at Ohio State University. His research analyzes transformations in African pastoral systems, focusing on climate adaptation, disease ecology, and coupled human-natural systems in Cameroon's Far North Region.

Moritz collaborates with the University of Maroua on interdisciplinary projects examining pastoral mobility, resource governance, and conservation conflicts. He advises graduate students Aden Branstetter and Nicholas Mauro, and his recent publications address transhumance, agent-based modeling, and ethnographic training.
