Mark Mintline

Mark Mintline, DDS, is an Associate Professor at Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (WesternU CDM) and a board-certified oral and maxillofacial pathologist. He serves as Laboratory Director of the WesternU Health Oral Pathology Laboratory, one of two CAP-accredited oral pathology labs in the U.S., and co-coordinates the Advanced Oral Diagnosis Workgroup.

His research focuses on improving diagnostic access for pemphigus and pemphigoid patients through multidisciplinary initiatives addressing health equity gaps in Southern California. The Biopsies Save Lives program provides free/low-cost consultations, biopsies, and testing for underserved populations while training clinicians in oral diagnostics.

The program he leads involves partnerships with WesternU, UCI Health, IPPF, and Quest Diagnostics' Quest for Health Equity initiative, supported by Delta Dental Community Care Foundation. It addresses barriers in diagnosing chronic autoimmune blistering diseases that cause life-threatening skin/mucosal damage.
