Mark Lustberg

Dr. Mark Lustberg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Yale School of Medicine. He holds dual MD and PhD degrees from the University of Maryland, specializing in Epidemiology and Biochemistry. His clinical expertise spans Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS Medicine, with a focus on translational research in antimicrobial resistance and cancer-infectious disease interactions.

Education: BS in Biochemistry (University of Maryland, 1992), PhD in Epidemiology (2002), and MD (2004) from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Board certified in Infectious Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine (original 2019, recertified 2022).

Research interests include epidemiological studies of infectious diseases, phage therapy development, and clinical management of parasitic infections. He is affiliated with the Cancer-Infectious Diseases (Cancer-ID) Program and the Yale Center for Infectious Disease.
