Mark Kemper

Dr. Mark Kemper is a Professor of Political Science at Bridgewater State University specializing in American legal and political systems. He teaches courses on American Politics, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Legal Theory and Process, Model United States Senate, and Mock Trial and Moot Court. Dr. Kemper serves as pre-law advisor for the university and faculty advisor to the BSU Pre-Law Club, and is Assistant Director of the Center for Democratic Governance and Leadership where he co-hosts the monthly cable television public affairs show, Commonwealth Politics.

His educational background includes:

• BA from Northern Illinois University
• MA and PhD from Ohio State University

Dr. Kemper's research focuses on judicial selection processes, affirmative action in higher education, court-bureaucracy interactions, and the historical development of free speech doctrine in America. His scholarship bridges theoretical legal concepts with practical applications in governance, examining how judicial decisions shape American political institutions and civil rights protections.
