Mark Jit

Mark Jit is a Professor of Vaccine Epidemiology and Head of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), with visiting professorships at NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and the University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health. His work focuses on epidemiological and economic modelling of vaccines to inform public health policy. He leads a research group addressing vaccine-preventable diseases such as COVID-19, measles, HPV, and pneumococcus.

Research Interests: Combining mathematical and economic models to evaluate vaccines' impact on disease burden and healthcare costs. Advising & Grants: Leads the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and co-headed its Modelling Group (2019–2022). Organizes global courses on vaccine economics and decision science. Major grants and collaborations include work with CMMID COVID-19 Working Group and Public Health England.

Labs/Teams: Directs the Modelling Group within LSHTM, focusing on infectious disease dynamics and health systems analysis.
