Mark James serves as Interim Director of the Institute for Energy and Environment and Associate Professor at Vermont Law and Graduate School. He teaches Energy Policy in a Carbon Constrained World and Oil & Gas Development & the Environment. His research focuses on integrating inclusive democratic processes into the clean energy transition, with projects examining economic tools for coal plant retirement, cybersecurity for electric utilities, and data privacy in energy programs.
Education includes: LLM in Energy Law from Vermont Law School (2016), JD from University of Ottawa, and BS in Ecology from University of Toronto.
