Mark Hanson

Mark Hanson is an Assistant Professor of Musical Theater at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) since 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a Master of Music in Music Theater Conducting from Arizona State University. His expertise spans musical theater conducting, performance education, and theater direction.

• Professional Experience: Music Director at Four Corners Musical Theatre (2020); Stage and Music Director at Great Plains Theatre (2017-2019); Music Director at Lost Nation Theatre (2015-2018); Music Director at Foothill Music Theatre (2004-2014).
• Memberships: Music Theatre Educators Alliance (2015-present); Musicians Union (1990-present).

Hanson has conducted over 200 regional productions and collaborated with luminaries like Stephen Sondheim during his graduate studies. His career includes work on national tours such as Spamalot and Les Miserables, alongside teaching roles in California, Minnesota, and Iowa.
