Mark Graves

Mark Graves is Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, researching the intersection of artificial intelligence, ethics, and spirituality. His work develops frameworks for moral AI systems and ethical data science practices.

Dr. Graves examines how theological anthropology and moral psychology can inform AI development, particularly for healthcare applications. His current projects focus on computational approaches to moral decision-making and virtue ethics in sociotechnical systems.

He co-founded the ethical approach 'Microethics for Healthcare Data Science' which emphasizes capability-focused design. As Research Director at AI and Faith, he facilitates dialogue between religious traditions and AI ethics communities.
