Mark Gifford is an Assistant Professor of Practice in The Writing Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He holds a B.A. in English Literature from Baylor University and an M.A. in English Literature from UTSA. Since 2005, he has taught writing courses including WRC 1013 and WRC 1023, and developed a discipline-specific course on science and pseudoscience. He serves as technology coordinator for the Writing Program and faculty advisor for the Pre-Med Association.
His creative work includes founding the Hyperliterature blog and podcast, co-authoring audiobooks like When Wade Tried to Save the World, and writing award-winning short films. His research explores pedagogical approaches to writing instruction with scientific themes.
