Mark Fisher

Mark Fisher is an Associate Professor in Accounting at the University of Sussex Business School, specializing in areas such as social enterprise sustainability and educational barriers for marginalized groups. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Imperial College London (1983) and is a Chartered Accountant. Fisher has held multiple leadership roles at the University, including Director of Student Experience, Director of Online Distance Learning, and membership in the Senior Management Team and University Senate.

His research focuses on community-driven solutions for financial literacy, sustainable social enterprises, and addressing systemic educational inequities linked to masculinity. He actively engages with not-for-profit sectors, including roles as a Governor at East Sussex College Group and Treasurer at Age Concern Eastbourne.

Professionally, Fisher is a Fellow of Advance HE and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses in accounting, law, taxation, and business analysis.
