Mark Elliott

Dr. Mark Elliott is an Associate Professor of Human Movement Analytics at the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Birmingham. He joined the university in 2024, bringing expertise from his prior role as Associate Professor at the Institute of Digital Healthcare, WMG, University of Warwick. His work integrates engineering, data science, and health to develop digital tools for monitoring human movement and physiology.

Dr. Elliott’s research focuses on digital health applications for musculoskeletal conditions, particularly using wearable sensors and smartphones to detect early signs of osteoarthritis and analyze physical activity. His recent publications span digital health platforms, sensor validation, automated driving, and health equity, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary approach.
