Mark DeChiazza served as the Edward T. Cone Visiting Fellow in the Humanities Council and Department of Music during Fall 2022. His academic appointment involved teaching MPP 219: Opera Performance while maintaining an active artistic practice that bridges musical performance with interdisciplinary design.
DeChiazza's research explores the integration of theater, film, and spatial design within musical contexts, focusing on how collaborative frameworks transform audience engagement. His work investigates site-specific installations and multimedia productions that deconstruct traditional performance boundaries, often involving composers in co-creative processes to generate innovative presentation formats for musical works.
