Mark Danton

Professor Mark Danton is an Honorary Professor at the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health, University of Glasgow. His research focuses on cardiovascular biomechanics, congenital heart disease, pediatric cardiology, computational modeling, and biomarkers in cardiac surgery. He has contributed to studies on aortic dilatation in Marfan syndrome, exercise intolerance in Tetralogy of Fallot survivors, and the impact of telemedicine during the pandemic.

His work combines clinical insights with engineering principles, such as developing 3D cardiac models and semi-automated databases for adult congenital heart disease patients. He has secured grants including a British Heart Foundation project (2022–2025) on right ventricular function modeling and a Medical Research Scotland study (2020–2022) analyzing pandemic effects on congenital heart populations.
