Associate Professor Mark Butlin is the Head of the Blood Pressure and Arterial Function (BPAF) Laboratory at Macquarie Medical School, Macquarie University. He holds roles as Co-director of Education and Research Scientist (MQ Health). His research focuses on cardiovascular hemodynamics, arterial stiffness, and translational applications of biophysical sciences and engineering. His laboratory investigates in-clinic and out-of-clinic blood pressure assessment, arterial waveform analysis, autonomic dysfunction, and rodent models of vascular disease. He collaborates with institutions such as the High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
