Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Mark Bonica is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of New Hampshire. He teaches courses in healthcare management and finance, with research focused on healthcare careers and organizational transitions. Prior to joining UNH in 2015, he served 23 years in the Army Medical Department, retiring as Associate Dean of the Army Medical Department Graduate School.
His research explores healthcare career pathways, leadership development, and organizational behavior in military and civilian healthcare systems. Publications examine mentorship models, work-life transitions, and economic aspects of healthcare delivery.
Bonica hosts the healthcare leadership podcast The Health Leader Forge and authors the newsletter Flourishing in the World. His teaching has been recognized with numerous awards.
