Mark Allan Rhodes II

Dr. Mark Allan Rhodes II is Assistant Professor of Geography at Michigan Technological University with expertise in cultural and historical geography. His research examines industrial heritage, memory landscapes, and community-centered preservation through spatial and cultural analysis.

Current projects include:

• Community geographies of UNESCO slate landscapes in Wales
• Scalar sustainability of industrial heritage tourism
• Transcalar memory work in post-industrial regions
• Amtrak's sustainable heritage tourism initiatives

Dr. Rhodes teaches courses in historical geography, cultural sustainability, and applied geographical methods. He employs community-engaged approaches in research and pedagogy.
