Marius Sebastian Secula

Marius Sebastian Secula is an Experienced Researcher at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania, a position he has held since November 2018. Previously, he served as a Researcher at the same faculty from November 2007 to September 2017. He also held a Le Studium Research Fellowship at ICMN-CNRS, Orleans, France from October 2017 to October 2018.

His educational background includes a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering (2003-2007), a Master of Science in Environmental Management (2001-2002), and a Chemical Engineering degree (1996-2001), all from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Chemical Engineer at Compania Conex (National Paints) in Iasi from July 2002 to October 2003.

Dr. Secula's research focuses on environmental engineering and water treatment technologies. His primary areas of interest include wastewater treatment, electrochemical processes (electrooxidation, electrocoagulation), adsorption techniques, corrosion, photocatalysis, and mathematical modeling for process optimization. His research often incorporates mathematical modeling and optimization techniques to improve process efficiency.

His recent work (2023-2025) shows an expansion into biomass conversion, carbon capture technologies, and advanced materials for environmental applications, while maintaining his core expertise in electrochemical and adsorption-based water treatment processes.
