Dr. Marit Westerterp is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Medical Sciences, Department of Pediatrics. She holds adjunct positions at Columbia University and is a Rosalind Franklin Fellow and VIDI Laureate. Her research focuses on cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, lipoprotein metabolism, and cholesterol efflux pathways. She earned her PhD from Leiden University Medical Center and completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University and the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam.
