Marit Krogeide

Marit Krogeide serves as an Associate Professor at Kristiania University College within the Department of Performing Arts, School of Arts, Design and Media. With over 35 years of professional dance experience, she teaches ballet and Pilates in the BA Dance and Didactics program, focusing on professional ethics and supervising teaching practice for the Post Graduate Education Certificate (PPU).

Krogeide's research interests center on dance pedagogy, classical ballet technique, and art communication for children and youth. Her work bridges practical performance skills with theoretical understanding, emphasizing the educational value of dance across different age groups. She has developed innovative approaches to dance education that integrate physical technique with artistic expression.

Her choreographic works demonstrate a consistent focus on interdisciplinary approaches, particularly the integration of dance with visual arts (notably her Munch-inspired performances) and music. These works have toured extensively throughout Norway, reaching diverse audiences in schools and cultural venues.

Krogeide has supervised numerous pedagogy students through Kristiania University College and Norges Dansehøyskole (2016-2021). She has been instrumental in developing the PPU (Post Graduate Education Certificate) pilot program for performing artists at Kristiania, which launched in 2022. Her Dans & Toner foundation, co-founded with Peter Lodwick, has produced over 2000 performances for children and youth across 10 productions, serving as a significant platform for art communication and education.
