Professor Marion Ellison is a Reader in European Public Sociology and Social Policy at Queen Margaret University (QMU) in Edinburgh and a Visiting Professor in Comparative Welfare States at Ca’Foscari University, Venice. She specializes in comparative social policy, work and employment dynamics in Europe, multi-level governance, and child care policy. Affiliated with QMU's Centre for Applied Social Sciences and Centre for Dialogue & Public Engagement, she holds a Ph.D., PGdip, and BA (Hons) from the Universities of Durham and Northumbria.
Her research focuses on youth vulnerability, inequality, and social exclusion post-2008 financial crisis, with a forthcoming book on youth transitions into work.
