Marina Spunta is an Associate Professor of Italian at the University of Leicester, affiliated with the School of Arts. She joined the university in 1997 and previously taught at Exeter University. She held a Visiting Lecturer position at the University of Amsterdam in 2018. Her research focuses on 20th/21st Century Italian literature, visual and cultural studies, environmental humanities, and orality. She has led departments as Head of School of Modern Languages and currently serves on executive committees of the Society for Italian Studies and AIPI.

Professional Activities: Served as external examiner at Universities of Nottingham Trent, Liverpool, and Salford. Actively involved in academic leadership and scholarly organizations.
